Peace and Human Rights at Centre of Amsterdam Gandhi Tribute
Indian and Dutch participants came together in the Dutch capital for a floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, bringing together the Gandhi Scientology Global Family and the Church of Scientology Netherlands around human rights, peaceful cooperation and non-violence.
The gathering, held at Amsterdam’s Gandhi statue, the event included Ram Mohan Rai, General Secretary of Gandhi Global Family, Scientology representatives and human rights advocates. The meeting opened conversations about future cooperation in peace awareness, human rights and youth initiatives.
The Church of Scientology’s support for human rights education is connected with the principles expressed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, who encouraged Scientologists to support initiatives advancing fundamental human rights.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, described the Amsterdam meeting as an example of civic responsibility across cultures, stressing that knowledge of human rights can help younger generations contribute to peaceful societies.
